We caught a few skipjack in 25m yesterday, in as close as the kahawai in the green water. Water temp still up around 20 degrees

It was a great day on the water today with some big km's paddled in the glassy conditions. Everyone landed a tuna which was cool especially for the guys new to tuna fishing. Congrats to Leyton for heaviest fish of the day and Adrian second place taking home the prizes courtesy of Canoe and Kayak Tar...

Date is now changed to Sunday 18th due to better forecast and also there is a power boat race off the port on Saturday. Power boats and kayaks don't really mix

Avoid high tide at Middleton bay it can get a bit tricky at high on the ramp there with a lot of water moving around.

Watch some early Matt Watson shows, he is good at showing how to strayline. Usually two hooks and a small running ball sinker, half hitch at the end of the bait and let the sinker sit back on that. Whole pillies or big slabs of bait if you want big snapper, like a whole fillet of a fresh small kahaw...

Circle hooks and put the hook through the back of the mack at a 45 degree angle like the big angry fish guys do for kingfish. Should hook in the jaw then just keep steady pressure on. Keep trying different ways but it looks like most are using circles now
