Ruff as Guts, I think it must be a desig...

anti reverse intermittently (not) working
I have a relatively new (<1 year) abu cardinal c174 which has been looked after pretty well, not dunked, and rinsed after every use. All of a sudden the anti reverse started playing up and not engaging, but it's an intermittent fault, and it engages sometimes. It tends to work better when i'm at hom...

Re: any one on here from sunny taupo + advice on rods
Hi 4wdn I have fished on taupo and in the sea with a cheap softbaiting boat rod and reel set. Short rods seem best for Kayaking, and if you ask me cheap stuff is best to have on the yak cause it's very easy to lose stuff, and it hurts less if it was the cheapest rod and reel combo in the shop! If yo...

You're right, it does sound mint! I definitely can't get out in the morning, and the afternoon is still only a maybe, so I'll have to wish you good luck, and maybe catch up another day! Leave one or two fish in the sea for me if you can.

Re: Sunday fish
Hi TaraYakka,
What time are you thinking of heading out? There's an outside chance I might be able to come along but i have lots of chores to do first!
So long as you don't launch from that boat ramp with "locals only" scrawled in blood on the wall!

Re: in-line fuses for finders...
And if you get a short across your battery it could melt through the bottom of your yak resulting in very wet feet. Having said that I had mine unfused for several months with the battery just banging about in the bottom of the yak which always has a little water in it, and never had it short out. I...

Re: FF batteries
From my experience, it's more about how you look after your battery! I managed to break my one after a few uses. Like most of my stuff on the kayak I reckon go cheap - it doesn't take much to bash it, lose it off the side or get enough seawater in it to render is useless!
Hope this is helpful.
