Re: Wharf Trips And amazing catches

Hi Epic, I have caught a few parore at the wharf and a couple of trevs to. I only use one bait there, very small pieces of muscle lip, maybe 4mm long each. I catch heaps on them. Crumble bread to sue as berley.

My fiend landed a 18kg kingi on the boat ramp there too.

Re: Saltwater fish in fresh water ?

Hey PM, the trawlers are not to be seen in the bay at the moment because they are working North from Tongoio right up to the Mohaka. They are hitting all of the spawning fish right up the top half of the bay. As for local boats crying over outsiders cleaning out the bay...what a crock of sh*t. I hav...

Unf&*#ing believable! Man who advises these dickheads that are making the decisions? This is the sort of thing I would expect to see coming out of the third world, not bloody NZ! Narrow minded commercialism.

Re: Snapper limit U-turn likely

This is typical politics (for these days), they are telling us they will cut our bag to three, we kick up a stink, they say oh well we have listened to your concerns and we have decided to only cut your bag limit to 6. They have probably already settled on the limit of 6 months ago.

Navigation cards

Hi Guys and Gals,

I was just wanting to know what manufacturer of Navigation card people are using? Navionics seem to be pretty popular with the gold card going for the mid $300s.

Cheers in advance  .

Re: Roof loading suggestions for my Prowler 4.5

My mate has a Prowler and a 2012 Mitsi ute. I was amazed to see him pull up at the beach after first getting the new Yak, with the kayak tied on the roof with 2.5t tiedowns going right around the whole ute and yak! He had the windows wound down so the ratchets wouldn't break them. When he put it bac...

Re: Longline from a yak

Ok then, now my two cents worth.... I use my long line quite a bit and I have no real troubles with it. I use an old paint bucket with 25 verticle slits made around the top with a hand saw, about one inch deep for each one. The line is Kuralon, this stuff does not tangle unless you put some real eff...

Re: Vhf Radio Question

I got the Cobra HH330. I liked the larger flexible aerial and optional power output setting. It floats and has the orange strip to make it a bit easier to see too. It is a bit bigger but I decided I did not want to be the guy in the coffin clutching a smaller radio :whew:

Re: Kayak Fishing in it's Most Pure Form

Nice fish Yakman. I once caught a trout that I spotted sitting in a calm piece of water by breaking off a willow branch and diving in and spearing it through the gills while diving stick first. The fly fishermen were a little bit annoyed with me but I was stoked as  It is a very satisfying fee...

I got given some paua and the condition was not all that great so I chucked them in the freezer just incase they would be good as bait. Has anyone ever used them as bait and if so how and did they work?
