Re: Spur of the moment to Tiritiri Island

Hi Coach, where can I find some details on the Rob Fort fishing social? I'm keen to try out a couple of comps, not because I have any chance of winning anything but just looks like a great way to meet like minded people. Really like the sound of a comp with a bigger sustainability focus. Cheers Bea...

Re: Spur of the moment to Tiritiri Island

"Rob Forts fishing Social" this year we are looking at removing longest snapper altogether and replacing it with "best mixed bag" taking away the emphasis altogether of large snapper and testing the anglers overall fishing skills.

Re: Spur of the moment to Tiritiri Island

I have a lower limit of 35cm, and an upper of 55cm. Even if they are showing no signs of life, I have a lead weight with a hook that drops them quickly to the sea floor. one yank on the rope and they are left there to hopefully swim again.

Re: Eastern BOP kayak fishing Competition 2019

Nice work! I see you are a Marlins Fan. I run Randwick park community centre and have the younger age group boys from marlins running around. You should come up with us to Papa Aroha for their fishing comp in November. :)

Has any one got thoughts on a good trolling lure for kahawai and snapper while paddling out to the grounds?

Orere Novice

Okay so after several months out of action the scene was set for my first paddle out into the waters off Orere point. Having a back and forward discussion with Yukikaze we decided that with positive forum responses the drag from the city of the future (Hamilton) might be worth it. We both arrive at ...

Sorry we missed catching up Jeffro, the day was pretty much a dud, although others had done pretty well the day before.

Re: Kereta / Wilsons bay

No problem with the wind this morning, apparently the fish decided to have a day off! Went out with yukikaze and spent most of the morning prospecting with softbaits but no takers, not one. Yukikaze was using squid baits and slow jigs and faired only slightly better, he had to put one or two back so...
