Headed out for a fish this morning (4th April) a bit down on my luck. Still confidence was up that I must be due for at least dinner. After noticing the tide was quite low and realising I had misread the table we swore
and headed out anyway. Even though the forecast was great as soon as we boarded the yaks a shower came on through…now I can never remember that’s good or bad

Anyway…since I got my yak a few months back I have had a pack of chartreuse (spelling?) Slams sitting in the bottom of my tackle box. Today I decided it was time to at least give them a go…glad I did. After about probably 20 minutes or so I had hooked a monster. The Abu reel was ringing and the heart began to pump – now let’s get it in the boat. After a reasonable battle with a couple of nice little runs I bagged me a keeper. 50cm!!!! Out goes the same bait and wammo off we go again. 48cm. ![]()
Then things slowed down…probably sat out there for about another couple of hours ficking baits around and ended up with another nice pannie, 45cm (my previous best) and a couple of small ones which went back to grow some more ![]()
All and all a great way to start the weekend.
cheers.
PS Sorry about the photo quality – camera went flat so had to use the phone ![]()
