Personal Best at Eastern Beach – New2Yaking

Headed out for a fish this morning (4th April) a bit down on my luck. Still confidence was up that I must be due for at least dinner. After noticing the tide was quite low and realising I had misread the table we swore and headed out anyway. Even though the forecast was great as soon as we boarded the yaks a shower came on through…now I can never remember that’s good or bad

Anyway…since I got my yak a few months back I have had a pack of chartreuse (spelling?) Slams sitting in the bottom of my tackle box. Today I decided it was time to at least give them a go…glad I did. After about probably 20 minutes or so I had hooked a monster. The Abu reel was ringing and the heart began to pump – now let’s get it in the boat. After a reasonable battle with a couple of nice little runs I bagged me a keeper. 50cm!!!! Out goes the same bait and wammo off we go again. 48cm.

Then things slowed down…probably sat out there for about another couple of hours ficking baits around and ended up with another nice pannie, 45cm (my previous best) and a couple of small ones which went back to grow some more

All and all a great way to start the weekend.
