David Oosterdijk from Barracuda kayaks today confirmed that they have a new sit on top kayak under development

I’m also interested to see how Barracuda will fill the gap between lightweight sit on top kayak and normal sit on top kayaks.
If it is as they say, I will definitely invest in a Barracuda sit on top fishing kayaks and sell my current kayaks, which is now a few years old.

I purchased one of the new Bararcuda sit on top kayaks ( full fishing package ) approx 3 months ago. I have owned and paddled a number of different makes and models of kayaks and I can say that the Barracuda is without question the best kayak I have ever paddled or fished from. I have used it in a wide range of conditions, some which have been a little hairy from time to time but I can honestly say I am always amazed by just how well the kayak has handled everything I have thrown at it with ease. Ii is also great to have something that is so eay to just throw on the roof rack with real ease due to the lightwiehght construction of the kayak. It’s also great to have such a strong lightweight kayak as there have been times after a long paddle it would sometimes be a bit of a struggle to wrestle my old 30kg kayak onto the roof rack without damaging my car. I hope this message gives evryone a bit more insite into just how good this kayak really is!!!! Happy paddling/fishing
