  1. This is my first fishing kayak, after some extensive research this seemed to me to be the best value for money for a newbie who was keen to get out fishing with as little fuss as possible and on a budget.
I opted to buy the xstream 420 with the optional rudder kit and set up the rod holders and other fishing bits myself, this was several hundred dollars cheaper and I now have only the  things that i will use on board.
I have now been fishing all summer and the only additions I have felt necessary were rod holders, a running anchor rig, paddle keepers and an Eagle fishfinder, all of which were very easy to fit.
The molded handles make carrying on one shoulder easy and better than wheels for rough/steep tracks.
On the water it seems fast enough although I don’t have much to compare to, stability is good and the standard seat is good for 2-3 hours before my butt gets sore. Plenty of room for all the gear you could ever want although the rear cargo area tends to ride low and without scupper bungs always seems to have an inch or two of water slopping around, heaps of dry storage in bow and center compartments though.
Overall very pleased with this kayak.
