Cheers Rob. Never came for prizes, only for the social aspect. The only thing I'd be unsure of though, is my arms handling all the paddling lol.

Wasn't quick enough for a cabin. Maybe I should have took the advise from last Comp and booked before we left last year. Never mind accommodation sorted and can't wait to catch up with everyone again.

Hi Coromandel Kayakers,
This sounds so good I am coming over from Perth.
We will be in Tauranga around 1st Nov to pick up a cheap camper van and then plan to be up the Coromandel for at least a week or two so the timing is looking good to try and get there for this event. Is there any chance of camping in a small van around the area at this time or is it likely to be very busy.
I am unfortunately not bringing my kayak over from Aus as it is a bit too big (Hobie Tandem Island). What do you suggest for hire of kayak while we are over there. Is it better to try and get out with you guys before or after this event has quietened down a bit.
Really looking forward to getting over to NZ. I keep hearing from fellow kayakers over here in West Australia how good New Zealand kayaking and fishing is.
Cheers
Geordie
