After watching Big angry fish Sunday arvo and chatting with a mate up north i was amped up to go hit it if conditions played ball.

Target species was supposably kingfish but after trying various methods included live kahawai it just wasn’t happening today.

So decided snapper was (hopeing) gonna be back on the menu atleast for tonight so out came the soft bait gear and casting inclose was a no go 10am arrived figured i had missed the early morning bite dam.

Again changing tactic’s decision was made to venture out wide quickly an try deeper waters, eventurely finding sum nice new pins in the 50m mark started showing up on the sounder but couldn’t see bugger all sign on it at 1st, thought ile give this a crack while out here so marked it on my handheld rigged up a 2ounce cyclops and new Zman paddle tail shinner on the new Synit Mantis Yakatak Lite rod.

Okedoke back on the marks now Deploying, 1st drop mid way down line started disappering very quickly of the little Accurate bx400n spool my instint reaction was to push the drag to strike HOLY SHIP rod buckled right over approximately 6kg’s of drag at strike as this kit is set up for kingis. 15 min later it popped up to the surface Holy crappers mean as snapper.

Later weighing in at 9.3kg’s and a brand new az PB…YEAAH…a few smaller ones landed and I was stoked.
BUT WAIT THERES MORE…

When I approach the shore decided to have a swim round a few rocks for kina, cracked open the 1st one dam skinni az kept looking around oh HELLO couple of bugs parked up under a rock 1st attempt BUGGER to slow or more like too chicken

By then it buggered off right under the rock but the second cray was within reach so back to the surface for another breath of air and thought to myself ok mate harden up man cause youve got fingerless paddle gloves on for protection from them spikes eh:lol:
Ok back down for another shot GOTCHA…Bagged eem sweet.

Anyways im getting sick of typing.

Got my son posing this time…TOO MUCH…
