Hi All,

Standard rules apply, please see the competition page

Competition Dates: August 1st to August 31st

1. Only one fish per entry

2. Multiple entries are allowed over the month but only your last entry will be put into the pool for voting, this means that the Snapper you catch on the 5th you put up, then on the 20th you catch a bigger Snapper and you post that, and on the 30th you manage to catch a bigger one still, the poll will only contain your entry from the 30th.

All entries should include the following information (along with a picture of the fish)

Name / Username of Angler:
Fish Type:
Length:
Date/Time of Capture:
Location of Capture:
Type of Lure/Bait used:
Comments: (optional)

The prize for the best fish this month is again a great prize from K-Labs: this month’s prize>>> And it's pretty special as it's one of there NEW rods!

The runner up will receive a selection of Hot Shotz products supplied by Hot Shotz Tackle

These are excellent prizes again this month, so lets show our support and lets see how many entries we can put in between us this month, remember it's not always size that counts, it's a public vote for the best fish, the biggest fish doesn't always win!

Good luck everyone!

My first comp entry/biggest fish ever so please excuse the cheesy smile!

Name / Username of Angler: Skarramooch
Fish Type: Snapper
Length: 72cm
Date/Time of Capture: about 2pm 6th August
Location of Capture: Urenui
Type of Lure/Bait used: Pilchard
Comments: My first time out in months, and only allowed 2 hours on the water (including paddling time) so I was not expecting this fella to be bending my rod! Turns out he was too heavy for our kitchen scales, but the bathroom scales said he was 6.8kg

Name : Kerry
Fish type : Snapper
Length : as long as my leg!
Date/Time of capture : 4/8/12 at 8:30 am
Location : North of maitai bay
Type of lure : 5" bbq chicken on 3/8 ounce jig head
Comments : I have no idea how heavy or long this fish was as I had no scales or measure on board but it was a very similar size to the 12.84 kg snapper I caught in dec last year so I est the weight at between 11 and 12 kg. The best thing is that it is still swimming around so it can breed us a whole lot more snappers and someone else can have a shot at catching it!

Length : ~63cm 14lb
Date/Time of capture : 5th August 2012
Location : Wellington's wild west coast
Type of lure : Whats a lure? Whole pilchard deep straylined
Comments : Not the hugest Snapper especially following Kerry's hua of a fish :y: but a special capture for Wellington waters with our typical snapper season running oct/nov through may/june (if we're lucky).
