Hello folks,

New to NZ, now in Hamilton, came over 5 weeks ago and still sorting a yak out, used to kayak fish a lot on the south coast of the UK (trident ultra 4.3) thought I would just introduce myself. Am heading over to matamata later this week, go pay a visit to Viking.

Fingers crossed, I'll be afloat in no time (specially since I've gone nuts buying the rods, tackle and fish finders already), just need a boat!

Hope to see a few of you around.

Tight lines.

Steve.

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum and welcome to NZ!

I spent quite a few years recently in the UK, and a couple of those working on the south coast (Shoreham by Sea). Lovely part of the country.
You'll love the fishing in NZ, particularly hooking into the big steamers like Kingy's etc, and if you're prepared to travel an hour or three from home, you'll get into some of the best fishing in the country.

Have fun at Viking, they'll sort you out (very well!). Also great supporters of the forum, comps and meet-ups, both as a sponsor and very helpful advice from Stephen.

I see you have the classic symptoms of a fishaholic, suggested you get yourself along to an AA meeting before you buy anymore tackle.
welcome aboard, I'm sure you'll need a new forum name in no time
