After getting a hard time for being out of town last weekend, decided to see what if the talk was true and arranged to meet the likely lads on the beach at 0630. I arrived at 0545 and the lads turned up slightly after that, except Luke1 who was struggling with his yoga pants in the dark( princess). Finally started out towards North Head at around 0620 for our first drift. Luke and Barry paddling into the rising sun holding hands( they make a lovely couple). First soft bait down and smack, got a lovely 50 cm snap. On with the drift and a couple more smaller snaps.
Thing died down around 0800 but it didn't take long for things to head up again, young Mat ( new lad to group) was struggling but kept up with the old boys( well done).
Decided to head back in with 6 in bag and 2 to Matt for dedication and having to put up with stick from Luke.
Myself and Barry with Matt in tow arrived back at the beach and waited for Luke to turn up ( refer photo).
Count so far:
Luke 4 after spending to much time gobbling off
Barry 4 after spending time knitting on the water
Matt 2 donated by Mitch
Mitch 6 largest 53cm
Doc 7 according to FB, ( mans a machine)
Team VIking takes out today's adventure with Team Ocean Kayaks 2nd.
Day out Saturday NN

Congratulations on your victory Mitch.
I'm surprised you did a Trip Report as in true Aussie style you were informing everyone on the beach about your catch!
It was an impressive crowd that you had drawn in telling them how you are the master fisherman. Just remember what happened to Warner, Smith and Co, although being an ex-navy man I'm sure you enjoy a bit of ball tampering
Normal service will be resumed next week so please enjoy you moment in the sun!
Very nice fish there Doc.
Great fun morning on the water which is what it's all about. Just the 5 for me but all decent sized and in great condition.
As Arnie would say, I'll be back!
Long Live The Mayor.
