After discussing a fish with Luke yesterday, decided to meet up at 0600 on the beach. Snapper comp.
Having grabbed a coffee at BP got to the ramp at around 0540 and again had to wait for sleepy to drag his sorry arse out of bed, he finally arrived at 0550.
Doc was unable to attend due to him saying he was still sore from the other day ( soft ..ck) and Barry now reading Luke's book on nothing of any use.
Off we headed towards rough rock and started first drift, we got a couple and carried on, then there was a bleat coming from Luke's direct, rabbiting on about a John Dory he had just caught.
With the wind picking up we trudged on then wait what's this on my line, a stingray chugging line like no tomorrow. Just off the front of Kermit she jumps out of the water, very impressive. Managed to get it along side and released unharmed.
Luke decided that he had won the John Dory comp, I believed the stingray was more impressive and forfeited Luke 1 snap.
Off headed Luke to shore unhappy and me carrying on for one last drift.

Luke - 6 snaps and 1 JD
Mitch 6 snaps + 1 donated- thanks Luke.

Running scores
Doc - 780 for the other days efforts
Luke - 600 BS artist
Mitch - 530
Barry - 400 for staying awake reading Luke's book

Lovely stuff!

I couldn't do 3x in 7 days, body was worn out ;(

I think I'm shitting pure snapper these days, it's all I'm eating.

I hope you made a good inspection of the mayor's catch so he doesn't 'accidentally' post the wrong photo ;)

Good morning on the water and great fun watching you being towed around by the stingray.
Not sure about that league table, as I said it was JD comp, which means The Mayor takes the points again :D Got me even more points with my wife. :y:
Real good fishing, we're lucky to live in such a great country

Luke due to poor sportsmanship you have been removed from the comp until further notice.
Reason for removal, All about you attitude, lack of understanding about rules, poor dress sense and couldn't write a book to save yourself.

That said, have a great week. :D

Nice work as usual, lads.

Looks like I missed it by a day - went out from NN this morning for a few slow hours and came back with 1 pannie. Slider and softies. That paddle back against the wind and tide is brutal. Kudos to you gents, you work hard for those fish and do well on most trips by the looks.

That, or you're doing a great job of throwing everyone else off the scent! ;)

Much banter and fun.

Keep them coming, they’re great to read. It’s cool to see that you’re consistently catching good fish so close to the city.

Might see you out there
