Mike and I arrived at Pukerua Bay early Sat morning with a sketchy forecast of 5/10 that was supposed to worsen. It was still dark when I got there and when Mike's car lights were shining on the water we thought not looking good to get out! We waited until it was light enough to make out what we were dealing with and for quite some time hummed and harred whether do do it or not. Eventually said let's do it as it didn't look too bad with more light.
Got out to spot and Mike and I were some distant apart but were both anchored up. Had no idea how he was getting on until later.

For me I only waited 5 mins and it was full on action for an hour and a half. First 3 fish were very solid Snapper which I was really stoked with followed by a couple of smaller 47cm models. 5 in total.Mike paddled over and he had well also with 3 Snapper with one very good one. Conditions were getting worse as forecast so pulled the pin. Back on beach by 8:30am. Love this little bay in the late summer / autumn!!
