Got up at 4am and on the water at 5:30pm. Slow fishing at usual spot off the toilet block so paddled around past Wairaka point. Conditions mint as and silky smooth until Northerly hit at 10ish. There was zero current at first and nearly always no current = no bites! Sure enough when the current started running - bites. First fish my PB Gurnard 51cm. Next fish my first Snapper of the season. 47cm. Sweet. A few Kahawai next including 2 on 2 hook ledger rig. A Kingfish came up next. Didn't measure but may have been close to legal. Returned. Also saw a pod of dolphins which is always cool. Got some quality fish for tea. My son is stoked as you can see with his fav fish. ImageImage
