Not much to tell really. Went out early into puk bay for my inaugural fishing expadition. Took all the salt water fishing gear I have ( Which is naff all as I haven’t really sea fished for 10 years and I only decided to go out last night)

It being a loverly day in welly a man could have walked stem to stern from the shore to mana island and to Kapati island without getting his feet wet at least 16 yaks out and dozens of boats

Needless to say without the right gear, enough gear or the right baits I didn’t catch anything, but then again other than a guy with a shark causing a problem and one red cod on from a guy I spent the morning chatting too no one else seemed to have a lot of luck either

So have now made a gear acquisition list that’s going to cost more than the yak and off to see how much I can push my luck with the appropriations committee

No matter, some of those early missions even quiet, are useful times to get you and your ship connected and figure what needs to go where.

I was one of the many out there Majortom. On the water about 6am. Was pretty quiet indeed for the morning.

It wasn't until the afternoon when I moved out to another spot on the sand that I caught about 20 Gurnard and a snapper (kept a dozen). Sometimes the bit is just not on, then you move spots, or your buddy goes home and everything fires up.

I managed a single gurnard landed, with a second one lost at the surface.

Sweet day! (shame about the fish) I headed in around 2.00pm.

Was that you with the blue? Viking 400 that I talked to on the beach? I had the Purple/red kayak.
