Headed up to fish the cavs with 2 mates for the weekend. Rubbish forecast so made it a cruisey drive up on Saturday lunch arriving around 5pm. The wind had died down just enough to head out to island 1 for an evening fish so we were off and had a limit within the hour, all 40-50cm snapper, kept a couple for dinner. Mate broke his paddle on the way out so had canoe his way back with reasonable ease.

After a rough night sleeping in the car...no tent poles... we headed out again, bought a spare paddle so all was well. The sea was pretty rough closer to the islands with a big left to right swell coming through so we turned around and fished the northern point about 500m off the beach. First cast and I got smoked by something big, it didn't stick around long. Finished with a few nice fish with the biggest going just over 10lb.

The wind died down again on Sunday evening so we had a nice evening fish back at island 1 and were luckily enough to have 5 dolphins play around the kayaks for 15 minutes or so. One of the best things I've seen to date.

Bugger all photos and didn't get a chance to get the heavy metal out, but had a great weekend .
