An awesome trip based off a mothership (university research vessel) amongst the Abrolhos Islands. Managed to hook a big angry shark that jumped a few times - a first Dhufish for me, and heaps of different fish over the weekend. Diving amongst the coral in crystal clear waters was a bonus, as was seeing some huge Samson fish and Sharks swimming under the boat at mooring.
Had my new Helix 5 with Nav maps which was great also, although I was surprised that my trusty old 525 managed to track my baits/lures with much more accuracy than the new one.
Anyway- had a blast - massive runs and bust-offs reminded me how quick reactions have to be when fishing close to coral.
