Well after 4 x enforced months off the water and no fishing following my wrist repair, the surgeon gave me the "green light" for a " gentle short paddle...of say...20 mins..." to test out the wrist.

So loaded up the gear and decided to try somewhere relatively close and new, so ended up at Rothesay Bay with Peace, Dedant and his brother (...live Ant ??).

Launched and after a few paddle strokes i was pretty pleased to feel no adverse effects, though I did keep a light weight brace on...

Fished in close and then headed toward the Browns Bay reef....

Lost a couple of fish and got absolutely smoked by a something big that lost me in the weeds !

4 hours later :tmi: :tmi: I headed back in with a nice 45cm snap, a solid Gurnard and a couple of Kahawai.... put another couple of Kahawai back, gave another one to Dedant and returned another snap to grow a big bigger !

All up a pretty pleasing result although "under load" with a fish on, the wrist was still pretty sore, but early days !

Now ...what do I tell the surgeon ?? :?: :?: :?:

I think LIGHT usage is probably good for it. That doesn't include hard paddling, playing monster fish or loading/unloading your yak!

If your physio is anything like mine, they'll know.
5 minutes into the session - "You've been kayaking again, haven't you?" |(

At least you'll be able to tell them you got a decent feed out of it :y:
