Was debatable weather wise as to wheather this trip was to go ahead but as the time drew nearer the forecast improved. Was meant to meet up with AR & Kerry but work and family commitments spoilt their fun. So headed up North with my fishing buddy Tim and spent 3 awesome days exploring the coastlines of Tapuaetahi and Matai Bay.
I've tried to put together some highlights in this my first video edit. It doesn't tell the full story as I didn't take the GoPro out on the last and most fun day, but it gives a flavour of what its like where we fished. Shout out to John Skeets of Tapuaetahi Fishing Lodge. A decent guy and very comfortable Bach. I would recommend and will likely be going again soon.
New species for me = Blue Cod = delicious :y:
Probably a new Snapper PB. released, didn't measure it but had a tumour the size of a grapefruit on its side ;( .
First legal Kingfish from the Yak = 83cms (John needs some scales at the Bach

Nice Trini!

I was meant to be up there this past week myself, but life got in the way! Still hoping to head up there in the next 2 weeks and definitely planning to spend a day at Matai Bay.

I'm surprised you say the fishing was slow there, I got the impression that there are a few monsters out there. How far did you go out past the heads? Looks like it gets pretty deep pretty quickly.
