Not much to report I'm afraid. Mitch finally grew a pair and was allowed out for a fish. Launched at 830 and it was real hard going.
Once the fog lifted it was a nice morning on the water. We both got a couple of throw backs but just couldn't find anything legal.
I did however manage to fluke a squid on a soft bait which is a first for me. Very tasty it was too and made a nice change from snapper.

Squid are yum, probably my favourite sea food after cray. Shame about the fishing, but that's fishing. I went out on Saturday. Beautiful day, although I didn't believe SwellMap, so stayed inshore. It was a decidedly average day fish-wise for Northland.
