It's the tri-annual fishing competition at work. The call to compete was made far and wide to various reps, tradesmen and office staff to sign-up and be in the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes. A combined tally of 142 anglers, 3 charter boats, 9 boats and 1 kayaker rose to the challenge.

The forecast predicted 12 knots gusts which made the little kayak very anxious  .

It was 5:45am and the conditions were perfect. This made the little kayak very happy as he could utilize the drift, stealth, soft-baits and micro-jigs much more effectively.

Later in the afternoon, at the weigh-in station in Half Moon bay, the catch was measured and weighed. Most of the anglers who had never come across a fishing kayak were very curious and surprised about the morning's take.

Later in the evening, competitors gathered at the Apothecary Cafe for drinks, food and prize giving. Gasps and cheers filled the room as the little kayak won 2 categories, taking out 3rd heaviest Snapper of the day, and 1st prize for catching the most fish of any angler and vessel in the competition   .

The little kayak was happy as hell and everyone know's his name. The next day (today) he duly reminded all his workmates about how his arms are very sore.....from carrying his newly won tools back home
