It has been a very long time since my last confession.

Today however I had a free day without rowing training and with a perfect weather forecast I decided to have a morning trip to Rangi. Trini and friend joined. Conditions were perfect.

Ended up being a good fishing morning which was a relief because I had been told I must bring dinner home.

Here are a few pics. The fish got bigger as the day went on. Ended up with 6 with the largest being 60cm (3.64kg).

Great to see you back, Destin. Fatherhood has really stymied my kayak fishing unfortunatly....
Did they last fish have a brush with a shark? Looks like tooth marks on the flank....

It has been way too long. Things should calm down a bit after the World Master games in April.

Very clinical indeed. 60cms! Well done. I'm still awaiting mine from over there. I ended up keeping 4 snaps @ 34, 41, 47 and one I didn't measure that I gave to Mark. Would have been about 38 I reckon. He ended up with just the one. Interesting that the bite seemed to come on over the slack tide! Wonder why that is?

Yes interesting to happen to us both. I have had good fish at slack tide in the past but then I have also had no bites so not sure if it is any better or worse.

Great to hear your back on the water :y: Nice fish. There seems to be a few decent ones round this year. Good luck with your rowing.
