I have been out a couple of times over the past month. I didn't have time for a TR and only managed a few sub 40 fish.
No rowing training today and perfect weather conditions allowed me to get out for a quick fish this morning. I slept through my alarm so didn't launch until after 7am.
Paddled over to Rangi. It has not been very productive this summer but I like it as its out of the way of most boats.
I did 3 drifts and caught 4 fish. Nothing huge.

Then a very warm paddle back to Kohi through the middle of a yacht race that wasn't going to finish any time soon.
Back on land and all cleaned up before lunchtime. 33, 38, 39 & 42cm.

any day on the water beats a day at work
not sure you're allowed to sleep in on a fishing day though bad form

Good feed there Destin. Finally got to fish your Rangi area a week ago and found it hard going. Mind you it's been the same out my way this month. The usual 40-50cm units seem to have been replaced by 30cm versions!

Had a peddle from Tamaki yacht club to Devonport across to Rangi and back to the yacht club last weekend. Peddled home against the tide. Hard work. Got a 63cm rat and a couple of 30+ pannies. Very quiet - is the "normal" for this time of the year?

Good to see you back on the water. Sounds like you've been getting the same results as me, usually enough in the 35 to 40cm range but definately not as good as last year. I've been too busy with potty training my 2&1/2 year old son to post a TR. Busy times.

Not sure where the bigger ones have gone? Maybe they don't like the hot weather.
