Here's some pics of the old and new Ultra center well lids, quite a few changes, mostly around the seal and water run off, also it's a little bit lighter.

Yea I've got the new one too and it seems much better than the old one (not that I had any real issues with the
old one, but this one definatly seems dryer ;)
the new one is also a little larger, but seems to fit realy well :y:

The first one I saw only had the end hold down and I had concerns that it might not be that water proof as it flexed quite a bit - I see those both have a middle hold down
The new one should be quite a bit better with the channel. With the hard edge it would probably flex less as well

Yep personally I've removed the center ones from mine both the lid and kayak sides on the new lid, not something recommended but the new lid has a much better fit than the old one and one is enough to hold the lid closed in a turtle anyway.
