Hi everyone

Looking to purchase my first yak and was wondering if anyone had any fist hand experience with any of the kayaks from the Wave Passion fleet of models and what sort of feedback would they give? .
Many Thanks

I got an Elite4 Fish Master Fishing Kayak Package with Trolley, on sale and I couldn't be more happy with it. Also the sales, service and price are great.

My only gripe is that I am 112 Kg and my first trip out ( I am 58 and recovering from a stroke), I took way too much heavy gear, like the Americans on youtube, I took most of a tackle shop, 4 rods and anchor with chain etc etc, so the 'yak was lower in the water than I expected.

But I've used the 'yak more over the break and found it to be fast, easy to manoeuvre and entirely suitable with two rods a little gear. And I'm losing weight with the exercise :)

I'll post about my most recent outing shortly.

So in summary, I can't recommend Wave Passion enough.

No worries :D

A quick note - at ~30 Kg, my Elite 4 is easy to pick up over my head and put on the roof rack.

Anyone else reviewed wave passion kayak ,I use an ocean angler scrambler was looking to upgrade to kayak with rudder,

Fish master elite 4 seems to be a good deal seat ,anchor rig, paddle, rod holders etc at a reasonable price, I too are slightly on the heavy side 105 kg and also take more rods and gear that probably required. ocean angler has no issues with buoyancy with all my kit.

Can anyone recommend this brand - pros -cons

cheers

I would just add to what I posted earlier, that I wouldn't use an Elite4 in surf or big waves, strictly coastal, in placid weather.

It handles the Ferry wakes on Auckland harbour OK, even side on, it just goes up and comes back down again. I've only had a little bit of water over the side once and even then, stability wasn't an issue. It's a fairly flat bottomed hull and I reckon, a great harbour and calm conditions coastal unit.
