Hi Guys.
Have been tasked with finding an ideal kayak for general use for kids aged 8 - 18 for our Sea Scout group.
We are located in Wellington so will mainly be harbour and a bit of river kayaking.
Will be getting a grant hopefully to replace our 30+ year old plastic and fibreglass yaks.
Not going to be fishing from them :( but around the 3m length and suitable for all age groups and experience.

Cheers.

I like the Espri for kids: -

- Copes with a wide size range
- Stable
- Lots of buoyancy
- Will handle reasonably rough conditions if the weather comes up unexpectedly
- Doesn't need a rudder
- Manoeuvrable
- Compact
- Easily carried

All of what Mike said about the Espri :y: Plus you have the OK Tetra, another one suitable , sounds like the Phoenix may also be worth a look. Genuine paddlers / fishermen would endorse these three for your needs.. :y:

Yep what the other guys said and I have sent you a PM regards Phoenix as we have supplied a few other sea scout groups over the years as I'm sure Viking have too, and I did with Ocean Kayak when they were still in NZ, another brand to look at would be Mission too as they have some good small sit on tops too :y:
