Looking at the wind, been almost a month since was last out, ( in paihia ) but back in akl so keen with the wind looking not too bad ( checking again after it updates in 10 mins )

Don't know why I call it sullivans, its not called sullivans anywhere, but the southern most beach in mahurangi is a go to for me as the currents are acceptable and there are no ferries to scare the shit out of me.

I haven't tried leigh, and might be keen to at some stage, I dare say its not much further than going to "sullivans" but then haven't been there yet so all shy.

So what's everyone up to this weekend ?

Hey Dave, it is called Sullivan bay and part of Mahurangi region park,
I dive & fish at Leigh few times now, its a hit and miss place for me.
Not many parking, just big enough ramp and could be a challenge if you back up an empty trailer down the ramp.
I would stick with Sullivan bay if I paddle W500.
But there is a fish & chip shop on the LH up the ramp, its very good :y: and seller also very friendly.
you should try it if you go there.
I stuck at work today, to many urgent jobs hopefully tomorrow if I can "un-urgent" some urgent job  .

Won't be there tomorrow, while Omaha beach seems to have a calm spot moving around, looks like I'm waiting for next weekend anyway.
