I was waiting on my bike at an intersection somewhere north of Devonport this afternoon and across the road goes a push bike towing a kayak. Wouldn't mind a look at how it all hooks together as it seems like a smart idea for short journeys.

I didn't get much of a chance to see it but noted FF, rods etc so definitely a fisher, and might be a forum regular? Is anyone else here using something like this?

You are not in Motueka are you? (Oh, I see, you are someone living overseas near Auckland. :D ) There should be a woman in Motueka (Nelson) who uses the trailer I took up there earlier this year. The original owner did at least one trip riding from Christchurch to Havelock (~400 km). Is that a short enough trip?

That would probably be me! I live in bayswater and drag my kayak to narrowneck - all ok on the flat but the hill up from narrowneck is a bit of struggle, even with a decent mountain bike!!!

The trailer is manufactured in NZ and works really well, uses a quick release ball and socket type of coupling. See http://www.cycletrailers.co.nz/html/kayak_trolleys.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers
Bruce
