Almost time and you can feel the anticipation building.

I have had a lot of fun with this series and those who have shown the dedication to participate in all four individual comp's are the true winners in this and should be acknowledged for their efforts.

Its interesting to read comments on competing in fishing competitions and I have shared the same opinion in the past also however this series has proven to be far more than just another competition. It is the social side that should be considered as I have got to know many like minded people all over the country who are great to spend time with. You only get to meet some of the real characters who are into kayak fishing by traveling to places outside your own turf.

For those tossing up whether this event and series is worth attending then how about the fact that this is our own (not part of another competition involving boats, land based etc) kayak fishing competition and is totally unique.

With continued support it will be around for a very long time.

It has been a real pleasure to help Justin out with getting this going, he is a top block who has a genuine interest in the sport we all love and has the drive and passion to make it happen.

My last contribution towards the series is the trophy's. They are totally original and the large ones will have each years winner/s added to acknowledge their achievement. These will be on display at the various sponsors showroom throughout the year. The smaller ones are exact replica's of the main trophy's and the winners will take one of these home to keep.

Good work Rob, some bloody nice trophies there. And I second your sentiments. It's been great meeting a truckload of good buggers at these events. And the competition side just makes it that more interesting.
I'm fully packed and heading off in the morning.....brand new kayak trailer loaded up.
Safe travels to those on the roads. Also good luck to the guys competing.....but not too much luck ;)
See you guys in my travels, the weigh-ins and definitely sunday night.

A big thanks to all the sponsors. You guys need a big round of applause

This series has been fantastic. Great to fish different parts of the country and as it has been said so many times-its meeting the people over a few beers that top off a great weekend.

Well that's work out of the way :whew: The Ward is chocker!
Friday will see me trying ta drain some of the water out of my wet suit I used on Tuesday. Bloody Aussie caught all the fish and I'm still trying ta get through them, LOL. Michael from Mellie as some really good gigging action and was getting 5kg Snapper out of the rocks in 15feet of water  When he pulled up another 5kg Snap, he ask what do I do with this? Told him ta release it, which was a new thing for him, LOL. Lucky he did, cause I was just starting ta think what was the size limit for Aussie Yakkers for spearos :?: All good was just jealous, cause I'm such a crap fisherman, LOL. I didn't even manage ta spear anything that day :tmi: Look forward ta the weekend ta see if I can change that ;) See ya dudes and Dudettes on the water and best of luck.
