I've got my spot locked in up the harbour from Kauri Point, looking at the tides I reckon I can get a free ride all the way up to Greenhithe and fish spot H

Hmm is this a post or a PM sure hope I hit PM don't want those out of towners coming here and stripping out all our moochers!!!

Cheers, Mental
It would be hilarious if someone does take your advice and catches a winner there :)

For those that don't know the boundaries have been extended too but luckily it still includes the inner harbour and the moocher spot near Kauri Point :y:

Well I guess that means Kerry and clan don't have to paddle as far now, Leigh reef at least is no within the actual fishing boundaries as well.

Grand slam would be cool but my main aim is to stay upright and get a feed and drink some beers at prizegiving.

Yeah mate that's what its all about .... having fun and trying to catch big fish ! :y:
Anyone who intends on fishing the Manukau harbour or the Kaipara harbour and don't have any experience with these harbours id suggest you do some homework and be very careful of the strong currents . Its a bit different to fishing the East Coast .

Agreed, I know some pretty decent paddlers that have had issues at the entrance end if the Kaipara.

Thanks for the heads up :y: I was just about to ask if there were any areas to "keep an eye on" up there.

Yeah from up those ways, the spot up near the entrance is known as "the graveyard"...pretty much tells the story.

Here's a few good spots around Kawau Island, should be useful to both locals and out of towners doing the comp :y:
