I would imagine that we all fish from Papa Aroha on the Saturday .

I don't get it really, why make it a shot gun start on the saturday if the comps for the whole of the coromandel? or like someone said can we drive to another location after 6am? I don't really mind if thats the way the comp is run and will fish it whatever the layout but this does need some clearing up before things like accomodation are booked.

In my last conversation with Justin he said that Sunday will be the day you can fish where ever you want...

but I suppose if you don't intend on weighing anything in on the Saturday you could fish where ever and just weigh in on Sunday only...

The point of it is good. its to try and get a bit more social and comradery going. its a trial to see how well it works. the idea is good it will just require some flexibility from those that enter to give it a go.

Thats cool as long as its clear on how it is going to be run e.g. so only launching/fishing from PA on the saturday? an east coast bail out option if the westerly is kicking up. I'm just more interested in being 100% clear on whats happening before organising accomodation, I'm sure it will be another awesome event.

We need Justin and the rules...

All it says on the Orton Events site and the poster is

Snapper: 1st to 5th
Kingfish 1st to 5th
Trevally 1st to 5th
Kahawai 1st to 5th
John Dory 1st to 5th

Personally I really like the idea of the "everyone launch from the same beach" concept but if the goal of the comp is simply to catch the largest fish of each species over the whole weekend then there are better "big fish" places to fish on Coro than off Papa Aroha that was my point...

X2 what me ole mate said :y:..i think it's a great idea and will be a much more social comradery atmosphere going on :y: ..sounds like theres gonna be a few diffrent brands of glass fishing ski kayaks on show at the beach as well from Stealths,Pinnacles and Kazkazi..The Cruzier Crew are coming :y: will be good to catch up Mr Winch :)..
Cheers YFS :y:..

Hi guys,

The rules are on my website http://www.ortoneventsnz.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have just re-worded some rules to clear up any grey areas.

If you are still unsure please get in touch with me.
Also I have set up a page in the Orton Events NZ Kayak Fishing Forum for any suggestions or Ideas you may have regarding the Series. http://www.ortoneventsnz.co.nz/forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers Orty

Hi Downtown,

If the weather does not go the I want it, then yes it will be open up to the other side on the Saturday. But lets cross our fingers.
