First comp outside of Taranaki for me. Loved it. Ohope was an old holiday spot back when I was younger. So had the nostalgia flowing. Stayed at the TopTen and that was some good digs. Meet a few cool yak fisho's too, and it prompted me to do the series.
Well done Orty for making it a double, sad that this might be one that I have to drop this year. If your tossing up wether or not to do it....just to it.

Hi all yakkers,

This comp is not that far away. For any begginers who like to join and dont know where to go or need basic kayaing and fishing advice I will be fishing on the saturday of the competition and will be there to help anyone who needs it. You can contact me on 021 930 299 or email me at info@ortoneventsnz.co.nz

For those of you in the Series I hope you have checked out where you are on the results. The Taranaki Classic produced some big changes and no doubt so will the Viking East Cape.

Again I would like to thank all our Sponsors for their generosity towards this event, and yakkers please support them cause without them, these events would not be taking place.

A list of sponsors for this event are on my web page http://www.ortoneventsnz.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; under Viking East Cape and on and earlier post.

Thank you and Tightlines

Just to let you know cell phone coverage east of Opotiki is very limited now they have turned the old network off, so make sure you have your VHF with you for this one as will be only means of contact with outside world.
Looking forward to seeing you all over here.
