North Otago
Hi Andy im Steve.
I bought my Kayak at end of summer last year and only managed to get into the Dunedin Harbour for a play around on it. Im very keen to start getting out and catching some blue cod now that the good weather is coming in.
If you ever fancy a days fishing just let me know as i only live in Dunedin. I have fished in Moeraki but from a boat and there were plenty of Cod out there.
Cheers mate

New to this, enjoyed the videos so thought i can do this. Was hoping to get out this weekend but my kayak( Viking Profish 400) hasn't turned up, will be this week. I am keen to try out Moeraki as i have heard its pretty good. Ran into an old friend here in Oamaru that has been getting out kayak fishing for years and i didn't know. He tells me that you don't have to go out very far to get blue cod, so will have a go maybe hopefully next weekend just off Oamaru. Have plans to try different spots around Otago.

Went and saw the other kayaker here and hes pretty keen to go out next weekend (depending on conditions) . He suggested hitting the water at 7 am. Is that possible for you? Will know more as the week progresses. I keep an eye on the conditions at http://www.swellmap.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and choose boating. Its good for about 3 days ahead. What sort of kayak do you have?

Yup..I'm keen to try different spots. I only fish off Warrington but am keen to try new spots (no kayak rack). I am keen so long as the boss lets me know it isn't a DIY weekend. My apologies to the guys who went to shag point last weekend. Still keen and would love to go out sometime. I am happy for people to PM me with their mobiles so I can get a crew together for a fish.
You can't catch a fish from the couch

i might be up for it, just had a paddle out around blueskin bay to introduce my wife to it with the new kayak.
would be good to head up and get a bit of more serious fishing in as i havnt been out in ages.
ohh space on the trailer ffor 2 kayaks if others want a ride up.

First fish for this season, 4 kayakers at Shag Point in pretty good conditions. One of the crew used berly and it was quite successful. Will do that next trip, hopefully Kakanui this weekend. Few bluecod, redcod, trumpeter and ras caught . Fish for tea last night. The bug is back.

Couple of us heading out on Saturday at Kakanui, hopefully catching bluecod and other varieties and dropping off a cray pot to pick up on Sunday. Successful fish last weekend at Shag Point catching bluecod, redcod ras and trumpeter.
