I've been plotting different launch sites on a google map for a while. I hope it's handy for others -- it includes some safety notes, photos, notable fishing/dive spots and taiapure/restriction boundaries.
Editing should be open in case anyone wants to contribute too.

Hi Paul , saw your post about launch sites and can help you out re Oamaru area. I often go for a paddle in the Oamaru Harbour and launch from the boat ramp near the boat club which you have marked on your map. Easy parking and a short walk to the boat ramp make it easy to access. I have never launched from the Kakanui boat club but keen to in the near future , my work mate dives and has a wee boat and said it's an easy launch from the boat club. So it would be worth a look.
