great reports on good salmon number all up the south island right now, this 22lber popped up on another forum today, I dont know if its a harbour fish or from further north, but this seems to be the typical fish being caught right now, they are all in amazing condition. pictures like this just get me pumped to catch one already!

When are we going to get the trip report... it would be nice to hear about something other than snapper (no offence to the yak fishers from that other island).

not much to report sadly,

wind made it difficult, launched from port chalmers to get away from it. Jez caught a baracuda, and i got very sunburnt legs.

no Salmon caught in the harbour Saturday that iv heard of.

hope the season picks up, because Canterbury are off to a cracking start.

Unfortunately this was the only fish of the day ... I will hopefully turn it into cod this weekend if the wind f*&^s off.

That said, first fish off the kayak, so hopefully that is the opening of the floodgates so to speak :)
For all the fishing methods, tips, and tricks out there, the most important is that the hook is wet ...
