What's everyones plans for the long weekend?
Anyone heading out this weekend?
I was out this morning and caught a couple of 5/6ft Conga eels as round as a 2.25coke bottle so the bar is set pretty low

Nothing wrong with conger eels, I trunk 'em and throw them in the oven for 30 minutes or so wrapped in a foil parcel, with herbs and butter, beaut tucker!

photo is not me...

Fishing was on fire for Kahawai, Horse mackerel and other bit's and pieces.
I got destroyed by a big Kingfish on my Gurnard rig (200m on the first run) After being towed a good 500m my dropper loop on the 40lb leader gave way. Was always going to happen with pressure like that. (could have bit the 24kg set bud!) Did a bit of hardbody trolling and picked up a ton of Kahawai. Even hooked up a skipjack tuna in 17m which i dropped (Telltale screaming first run and quick tail beats) Eventually i put together a bin of 1 Grunter and some big mackies.
