I went out early this morning and fished in the rain to see what was around before the wind and swell picked up.
I caught this on my first cast of the stray line, I would have preferred to release it as they are not the best eating at this size but this one was gut hooked so in the bin it went.
There were a lot of Snapper around the 40cm mark around this morning but it was catch and release for them since I already had enough meat in my bin.

Great Catch RJ. Must have taken all your willpower to get it aboard the yak! I can verify that it was a monster as I have seen the head! Weighed more than most fish that I have caught! 8)
Would have been good to be out there, buts thanks for the fresh fish anyhow. :y:

The same spot you got that 55cm one from last year so you know where to go.
I hope you're not driving all over the island to find good fish when they are only a couple of km from your house.
