Who's keen for a midwinter fish?

Hawkes Baydiscussions, for local trips, meetings etc.

I'm thinking it's about time i got back out on the water,
Watching the weather forecast for this Sunday and it looks good at the current moment. will be keeping an eye on it throughout the rest of the week to see if it changes.
Is anyone keen to come out and have a go? Company is always welcome.
Cheers

I've got your number so i'll keep in touch for sure, wind looks 5-9 knots or so which is a good sign. Will just be a fish at the port. Going to head off in search of some reef to look for some different species.

Edit: If the wind is forecast right , i will be heading off the port at about 8-9am and hopefully fishing through to the afternoon! Anyone else welcome to join. Get your winter gear on too 12 degree high!

well me and herman made the effort to go for a paddle today , the results were much as expected. around the port in its deeper parts is thick with dogfish, they were even biting slow. Conditions weren't ideal. with swell higher than expected so we stayed inside the harbour. Water Temp was reading a chilly 11 degrees. and water colour was browny blue so not ideal there either. After herman packed up i had a go on my cod spot to try snag a legal fish. it's good to see there are some cod breeding in the area (all returned) the one at the bottom was 30 cm
