Hi Guys and Dolls

HLD asked me for these figures a wee while ago and now here they are! Yes they are to do with fisheries up here in Northland, but given recent results (fish caught) it looks like we have a fishery on the same level as Taupo (if not better) right on our door step-yes Kai Iwi, in particular Taharoa.
Below is a list of liberations during May this year by Fish and Game NZ (Northland)

Wilsons Dam 600 Brown trout
Whau Valley Dam 250 Rainbow trout
Lake Manuwai 600 Rainbow trout
Lake Taharoa (Kai Iwi Lakes) 2000 Rainbow trout
Lake Waikere ( Kai Iwi Lakes) 350 Rainbow trout
Waitangi River Puketona Junction 250 Rainbow trout

If anyone would like to know/learn more about fishing for one of the finest types of fish in the world, let me know!!!!
Cheers
Cheers
Karl

And now, you know it is  They are not massive fish but a good feed all the same. This is MR HLD's stomping ground.

hmmm Okataina, Rotoiti, Tarawera and other release style lakes or should I say put and takes to keep it simple all display the same habits as each other... the fish return after and before freshes to the area of release to try and spawn. you can take the river out of the lake but you cant take the need to bonk out of a fish :D

So with that in mind all of the lakes up here that are stocked... 100% of them can only mean that from now on fishing the areas near release points is going to produce some very good fishing. this is assuming that the fish have or are able to hit maturity.

Speaking of which what are you doing on Tuesday cause where looking at heading up to the lake enar KeriKeri if your interested?
