Hi all below is an email received from the taupo fishery scientist from DOC who has confirmed that softbaits can be used on lake Taupo so long as they are not scented.....something new to try this weekend :) I will keep you all informed on my progress

Yes it is legal to use softbaits but they cannot be scented.
