Hi guys... It's been nearly 10 months since I last put my yak in the water and a lot longer since last posting on the forum. I'm curious to see who here has fished Aotea Harbour... And how well it fishes... Thanks for any I've taken to respond.

G1 frequents Aotea regularly.
He's overseas at the moment but back later this week.
Drop him a PM if he doesn't spot this thread and reply.

I've fished there once, usual drill beware of the current, especially outgoing tide.

If you want some fun there's plenty of mud Marlin (Ray's) around, lots of Parore but also some quality snapper and beasts of Kahawai about.

A vivid memory from my last outing there was beaching the kayaks an dangling soft plastics arms reach away to watch them get smashed by some 3kg Kahawai. Awesome fight in big current especially when they are so green.
