I hope so, but with a bit of time off the water coming - I'm running out of time. Maybe this means I should spend less time working and more time fishing

PS I think you will find the fish never swim to Aussie for winter and never have. but there are time of the year when there shagging and exceptionally easy to target.
But you havn't addressed the Soft fishermen part MM ;)
Guess it's them that all go to Aussie when the going gets tough!
Ohh yeah don't upset MM with all the breeding talk fullahs as he probably dosn't realise all that action is curtailed by child birth --

Just caught my first 20 pounder last weekend and kept it, was in a comp and also was hooked quite deep so probably would have been poked anyway. Any future ones will be released if possible after a quick pic unless in a comp then the gaff comes out.

To date, every snapper over 4 pounds I've caught has been bludgeoned with a priest until it stops moving. That would bring my overall tally to zero.

If for some reason my aimless limp wristed casts and paralytic spasms of jigging action manage to hook a decent sized fish I'll be lost for words, but the plan is to keep a new Pb, otherwise it'd have to be a special reason to take a fish over 10 lb. Now, that special reason will most likely be very losely applied until ive actually caught a few fish of any remark, such as got friends coming over, had a crappy week or its a Tuesday, but I'd like to think someday I can exhibit some vet excellence and only keep for comps or stories. This is snapper mind, any and all ky are open season until I catch at least 1.

The way comps are going, you wont be allowed to keep big fish!! Maybe snapper need a break around spawning, like trout?? Just a thought..........
