Thanks, it was a lot of fun. It took well over 100 metres of line on the first run. Thought it was a kingie at first, but didn't feel quite right for that. I expected a shark, so was surprised to see this monster!
I was toying with the idea of using lighter setup as my "go to" rod and reel. Glad I didn't now!

Nah, but there is an American dude who fishes from a jetski and prolifically posts on a British kayak fishing forum and get loads of shit for it. I can see both sides I suppose.FatherOfMany wrote:wow, someone must really have given you a hard time about converting to jetskiism! I think ex-kayakers will always be welcome here, mate.

I do over on my Texas forum, but in fairness I give grief to the guys who mount outboards on their kayaks too. Think a lot of it is in the delivery too. This post, I have no issue with because it's a straight forward "I'm happy because it's my best" vs a "hey losers look what we caught farther out" or the "I motored out 8 miles but I still deserve recognition because it's a kayak". The second two cases are where I have to start editing myselfAndrewRawlingson wrote:Nah, but there is an American dude who fishes from a jetski and prolifically posts on a British kayak fishing forum and get loads of shit for it. I think a lot of newbies cut there lines thinking they have a shark and never realize they had a 20 pounder. I always bring mine in close for a look, means they have a better chance of survival when you cut them off too.AndrewRawlingson wrote:Thanks, it was a lot of fun.
