This year we are also offering a morning session with Rob Fort on Sunday 6th November. This is a free on the water micro jigging fish were you can learn how to use this effective style of fishing for snapper.

There are also going to be some fun competitions at the event during the fish measuring times that will test the fishing skills.

Here's the link to register: http://www.kayakadventures.co.nz/Kayak-Club/index.php/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Updates on sponsors and other happenings in due course and look forward to seeing everyone again this year.

Is there any chance I could crash in my car or perhaps put a mattress and tarp over my trailer? I'm not too keen on paying for a cabin or room.

Have put in my calendar and will likely bring down my 10 year old if the weather is spot on. Figure it would be a great spot to get him in a kayak and out on the water. Last time I was down there were kawhai, trevally smashing bait fish just a couple of hundred meters off the beach. Sounds like ideal conditions to get him into a kayak.

Could just bring the jetski. :devil:
Hell, if you guys are fishing on the west side, I could just shoot over for a day trip. It's not that far as the crow flies.

sk8e8 we have a huge fleet of kayaks available to use and some even have really comfortable seats if you are feeling unsure after using a jet ski. It is a kayak fishing event though mate, however you are most welcome to attend and join the fun (you could bring the family and a plate for dinner) but the jet ski won't get you any prizes. If you would like to offer your services as a safety vessel plus take photos of the competitors then that would be great. Just keep your noise down so the stealth factor remains intact :D

Already some fantastic sponsors have come forward and we are yet to really approach our regulars so should be plenty of prizes for the competition as always.
Here's the first one that Rob talked to at the Afta trade tackle show in Gold Coast last weekend:

Special thanks to Kevin Barr who owns Bars Optics, he has supplied some of their fantastic sun glasses that are excellent for fishing and kayaking. The range includes some polarised bi-focal options that are very handy for anyone who is finding tying knots on the water difficult. They also have some new sunglasses that are photochromatic and include bi-focal also, these are cool because the lenses change to suit the conditions (go from light to dark). :y: :clap:
Check out the website: http://barzoptics.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

More updates soon.
