Hi all,

The first ever Trans Tasman Kayak Fishing Competition is about to hit our shores in June. These two teams will compete in a mothership competition over 3 days and 2 nights for the Stephen Tapp Kayak Fishing World Cup at either Cuvier Island or the Mercury Group of Island's depending on the weather. To keep up with what's happening you can check out the NZ Blacks Yaks web and facebook pages.

The Yakaroo's fly out tomorrow in the inaugural Stephen Tapp Kayak Fishing World Cup. We will be based out of Whitianga for a couple of days before we head out on Monday to Cuvier Island. The Yakaroo's will get to have a play in our waters before the competition starts on Tuesday. To keep up to date with whats happening you can check out the following pages.

This competition is a measuring competition with 5 species to catch each day. Only Softbaits, Hardbodies/Trolling lures and Jigs are allowed on the boat. Competitors are allowed to catch Bait off there Kayaks only to use as dead or live baits. The Team with the longest length will win. And each competitor is only allowed to bring 3 x rod and reel sets. What Rod and Reel sets would you take?

I would like to Thank Viking Kayaks, Orton Events NZ Mothership Trips, Catch, Berkley, Berley Pro, Lowrance, Railblaza, and Wave Dancer with there help and support towards making this event possible.
