being the cheaparse that I am (yes my anchor is a brick, and my pod is a old compost bag), I found myself perusing the local Salli Op shop. $2 later and I am the proud owner of a mint condition Wusthof Classic Kitchen Knife, RRP $129. A light tickle with the chefs steel and it is razor sharp. Beats my Sabatier knives by a country mile. Happy days

What a great score there! I frequently buy my nz fishing magazines at the op shops and hospice stores. Although they're not the latest editions, can't complain about the 50 cent price tag.

I spotted the bargain of the century in our local op shop. A pair of scubapro jet fins for SCUBA. They were $7 and in good condition. They retail for $299!

They were my other half's size, but she didn't want them because she didn't like the colour! What can you do?

On the knife front, the Clearance Shed in Whangarei is selling Green River filleting knives for $29. They usually retail at $49. Not a massive bargain, but worth a look.
