Hi All,
If anybodys interested I'll be fishing at Langs Beach for this weekends King of the Harbour fishing comp.
Will be launching South end of Langs by the boat sheds - via Hector Lang drive. I prefer to launch there rather than straight off the beach because no matter the conditions it's always calm there as opposed to some gnarly surf at times. For those that don't know the area, Hector Lang drive is just past the toilet blocks at the South end of Langs - heading towards Mangawhai. Drive in about 150-200mtrs and down in the dip there's a Reserve with a low wooden fence on left (not the one with the steel mesh fence). From there you can see the boat sheds and it's about a 5min trolley/walk from there.
I'll be there by 5.30am in a blue Subaru Stationwagon.
Cheers,
Keith.

See you at the weigh in.

Hi Matt thanks for pointing that out mate, but I was just replying to fellow club member "Keith's" post within the clubs section. I'm trying to get more people to use this as a means to communicate within the club network. Anyway, when you going to join up mate???

Well, that was a bad days fishing! :(
One tiny Snapper - legal, but I'd be too embarassed to weigh it in, it was nice smoked though.
I think the problem was the shark that was bothering me for the first hour or so. It was only about 2mtrs long but it wouldn't leave me alone, it just kept circling and watching from about 5 -10 mtrs away. whenever I moved somewhere the shark came with me. It scared the fish away, so that's my excuse for not catching much.
Keith.
