EAKFC monthly trip announcement and call to action – “Your club, needs you”

We all know that Auckland is the economic back bone of New Zealand and has the number one Super Rugby franchise (’96,’97,’03), the best beer, tallest man made structure, the Ridges, is recognised as a Super City and of course – have the best fishing AND fishermen (yes ladies that includes you) in the whole country. Fact.

Sunday 21st of October is the inaugural Kayak Fishing Interclub Series and kicks off with Super City hosts, the mighty East Auckland Kayak Fishing Club versus Waikato Kayak Fishing Club at our home ground Orere Point.

Waikato are a formidable team boasting legendary fisherman known for their acts of heroics, spending more time in their seats underwater than above, savings baby whales, double denim, wrestling monster fish, paddling tandem kayaks - solo, cultivating snails and owning kayaks with knick names like “Snow White”. Yes these Southern men have seen it all, done it all and been to hell and back and definitely look like they haven’t showered since. They are rough, tough and smell bad and they are coming to Auckland with their “A game” faces and game fishing lures.
Your club is looking for members who are seeking a fun, entertaining, slightly different, slightly competitive day on the water mixed with plenty of ribbing, bit of a laugh and a sausage in bread from the BBQ afterwards.

• To enter as a representative of EAKFC you must be a current “paid in full” or be an honorary member of the EAKFC and reside in the greater Auckland region
• Date is Sunday 21st October Fishing from 7.30am with weigh in at 1pm
• Orere Point – main car park
• Three heaviest fish per angler to be weighed in and recorded
• Winning team based on average weight in ratio with head count per team
• This is a club trip and points will contribute to kilo king (or B2 and Fletchers tally)

Viking have kindly come to the party AGAIN and thrown in a $200 voucher for good will. This will go to the individual with the heaviest fish.

If interested email brad@talentcapital.co.nz or speak with Brad Stewart (KLB). The goal of this event is to have a good time, meet other dedicated kayak fishing enthusiasts, catch a feed and try something new. This is not a “serious” event and shouldn’t be taken that way. If all goes well then we will lay the challenge down to other clubs after we take a team to the Waikato, although not sure why - as all they have is dirty river eels.

Yes we realise this is the long weekend and understand if folks are away but hoping for at least a handful of our finest.

Thanks
EAKFC committee

Yeah well done to KLB for organising this. see he can do something other than follow Awondering around Orere Point trying to catch all his throwbacks, picking snails out of his yak and tackling big angry Eels. Ignore the last bit. That has not happened yet  .
Been a while in the making this. As we don't officially have a membership to our club yet we will have a talk tomorrow around eligability. It will probably be something along the lines of declare your eneding love for the current Super Rugby Champs or be able to drink a whole bottle of Waikato and hold it down for at least a minute. I am not talking about the new stuff though. I am sure I have a box of 63' vintage somewhere in teh shed. back from when they just scooped it out of the mighty Waikato.
KLB you forgot to mention that we also have the most fingers per capita more Mother/Sister combo's than the rest of the country bar Southland. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. One more rule will be that anyone that has the smell of Capu/frappa/mochacinno/flat/long/round/square/white/black or whatever other combination of Coffee that you people drink on their breath will be ejected from the waikato team and will have to suffer the indignity of being treated like an Aucklander :P :*
Apart from that can't wait. We have a few secret, non whale fiddling, weapons up our sleeve. Bring it on and long may events like this continue.
Anyone who drinks Waikato and therefore eligable for the A Team can contact me on waikatokayakfishingclub@yahoo.com or PM me through the site.
Cheers

Right the regions premier Kayakers have been invited to paddle for their team. Not holding my breath but you EAKFC folk should be scared  .

I have a couple of prizes from the Gold Rush that I probably won't use so I will chuck them in with a couple of packs of softbaits. I think there is a 300gm jig and some roof rack strap things. No Kumara I am afraid as they are all earmarked for tea. Maybe a runner up or spot prize.

Who else has got something to chip in with? Maybe a single bootie for a one legged kayaker from KK.

Oh and a big thanks to Viking Kayaks. An awesome gesture :y: :y:

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.
