I'm heading north this weekend for a party in Whananaki.I have some time for a fish Saturday early evening.I was wondering if anyone has been fishing around here lately.I thought I might try around the small islands out in the bay at Otamure,I've rock fished here before and got some snapper and a rat kingi.Or maybe is Whananaki bar working better at the moment. If anyone has any feed back would appreciated.Cheers gents

Yeah, I did OK there the weekend before the KFWC; not all that well around the little islands themselves, but the reefs a bit further out (still well inshore of where the people in the campground were taking their boats, though).

"OK" as in one snapper at 77cm and another at 62 as well as mid-40s pannies to take home.

Cheers for the info gents,I got down there it was gusting up to 20 with about a 1m swell rolling in.
A few beers seamed more important,it was nice being back home in the north, even if just for a night.
